Srinagar, April 18: The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Srinagar has warned people to stay away from rivers, lakes, and streams because of bad weather expected in the coming days.
The weather department says there will be rain, thunder, and strong winds from the evening of April 18 until late night on April 20. Because of this, the DDMA has asked everyone—especially those living near the River Jhelum and its smaller rivers—not to go near water bodies.
Tourists, boat operators, sand miners, and people crossing Dal Lake or River Jhelum by boat are also being told to be very careful and not to travel unless it is completely safe.
