💼 About the Role
As an Incident Response Coordinator, you will be the central force managing and orchestrating responses to cybersecurity incidents. From detecting suspicious activity to leading recovery efforts, your decisions will directly impact business continuity and data protection.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, legal, communications, and external partners—ensuring every incident is handled swiftly, accurately, and professionally.
🔍 Key Responsibilities
🚨 Incident Management & Coordination
- Lead end-to-end response for cybersecurity incidents (investigation, containment, recovery, remediation)
- Act as the primary communication hub during incidents
- Provide real-time updates to leadership and stakeholders
🧠 Threat Detection & Analysis
- Monitor security alerts, logs, and network traffic
- Identify, triage, and respond to suspicious activities
- Perform initial impact and risk assessments
📊 Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain detailed incident reports including timelines and actions taken
- Conduct post-incident reviews and publish findings
- Recommend improvements to prevent future threats
🔄 Continuous Improvement
- Update incident response plans, playbooks, and procedures
- Conduct training sessions and simulation exercises
- Stay updated with latest threat intelligence and cyber trends
🛠️ Core Skills & Expertise Required
- Strong knowledge of incident response frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001)
- Understanding of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)
- Familiarity with SIEM, SOAR, EDR tools
- Experience with malware analysis & digital forensics
- Knowledge of cyber attack lifecycle & defense strategies
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations with clarity
🎓 Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT / Cybersecurity (or equivalent experience)
- Minimum 2+ years in incident response or related cybersecurity role
- Strong communication skills (written & verbal English)
🏆 Preferred Qualifications
- Certifications like CISSP, GCIH, ECIH, GCFE
- Experience with scripting or automation tools
- Hands-on expertise in advanced threat detection
