❄️ Winter Vacations Announced for Government Degree Colleges in J&K – Check Full Schedule
Srinagar/Jammu, Dec 23:
The Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has officially announced winter vacations for all Government Degree Colleges across the Union Territory, bringing much-needed relief to students and faculty amid harsh weather conditions.
As per Government Order No. 497-JK(HE) of 2025, dated December 23, 2025, the vacation schedule will vary based on winter and summer zones in Kashmir and Jammu divisions.

🔹 Kashmir Division (Winter Zone)
All Government Degree Colleges in Kashmir will remain closed from:
👉 December 24, 2025 to February 14, 2026
🔹 Jammu Division (Winter Zone)
Colleges located in winter zones of Jammu will also observe vacations from:
👉 December 24, 2025 to February 14, 2026
🔹 Jammu Division (Summer Zone)
Colleges falling under the summer zone in Jammu will observe winter break from:
👉 January 1, 2026 to February 10, 2026
The order has been issued in the interest of administration and signed by the Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary), Higher Education Department.

With this announcement, thousands of college students can now plan their winter break, examinations, travel, and online academic activities accordingly. Regular academic work will resume immediately after the vacation period ends.
