Harris: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Account Follow-up Representative to handle outstanding hospital patient accounts and ensure timely insurance payments. The ideal candidate should have strong communication and problem-solving skills, along with a solid understanding of medical claims and insurance billing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct timely follow-up on outstanding hospital patient accounts to secure insurance payments.
• Verify claim payment status and rebill to the patient’s insurance as necessary.
• Manage an average of 30-40 patient accounts per workday for assigned insurance payors.
• Process denial and zero-pay reports within 48 hours of receipt.
• Communicate effectively with insurance companies to resolve outstanding balances.
• Perform research on unpaid patient accounts and route them through the appropriate workflows.
• Work to bring patient accounts to a zero balance or shift responsibility to the patient financial class.
• Investigate the cause of non-payment and take appropriate actions, such as:
  • Requesting claim processing from insurance companies.
  • Coordinating cash posting reviews for corrections.
  • Initiating coding reviews for account resolution.
  • Contacting patients for updated insurance information.
• Submit adjustment requests for approval if necessary.
• Submit rebilling requests and utilize MEDTEAM’s ticketing system for claim inquiries when additional review is required.

Ideal Candidate:

• Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with insurance companies and patients.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple patient accounts efficiently.
• Knowledge of insurance claims, denial management, and medical billing processes.
• Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve outstanding claim issues effectively.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Previous experience in medical billing, claims processing, or a related field is preferred.
