Fireman List Released- 15% Eligible Candidates From Jammu & 09% From Kashmir Qualified
Srinagar, October 03: The Departmental Recruitment Board for the recruitment of Fireman / Fireman (Drivers) has released the list of selected candidates based on the re-written test conducted on 20.09.2020.
A total of 690 candidates which includes 592 Firemen and 98 Firemen(Driver) find place in the Select List. It may be mentioned that the recruitment of the Fireman / Fireman (Driver) has long been pending since 2013 when the advertisement for the recruitment was announced in the erstwhile State of Jammu & Kashmir.

As per details with Cross Town News ,for the recruitment process initiated in 2013, a total of 66094 applications were received which include 21762 from Jammu region and 45002 from Kashmir division.

About 140 applications were received from the candidates of Ladakh region. The recruitment was conducted in two phases. In the first phase, the physical endurance test was conducted and candidates who have qualified the physical tests have become eligible for appearing in the written test.
Accordingly physical tests for the said examination was conducted in October-November 2018 in which 7169 qualified.
It is pertinent to mention that a written test was held in December 2018 which, however, ran into rough weather as a result of which the Home Department of Jammu & Kashmir had cancelled the test and ordered a fresh re-written test for all the eligible candidates who had appeared in the earlier written test held in December 2018.
The re-written test was held on September 20, 2020 in Jammu, Srinagar and Kargil in which a total of 6593 candidates appeared for the test in 20 Centres. The examination was conducted through the Transparent Recruitment Process by the agency to which the task was outsourced and it was conducted with full CCTV coverage and independent team of invigilators from the TRP agency.
The Home Department of J&K had also nominated its own Observers to oversee the smooth conduct of the examination.
Among the 6593 candidates, 231 candidates of Jammu region among 1513 candidates who appeared from Jammu, find a place in the select list. Similarly, among 5043 candidates of Kashmir division who appeared from Kashmir province, 453 candidates find a place in the select list. 06 candidates of Ladakh are also part of the select list.
From the select list, it indicates that 15% of candidates among those who appeared in the written test have qualified from Jammu region while 9% who had appeared from the Kashmir region have qualified from Kashmir region. The list of select candidates has been uploaded on the official website and can be accessed at www.fireandemergencyjk.co.in
