University of Jammu: Applications are invited from the candidates as per the eligibility for 02 positions of Lecturers (Lecture basis) for M.Sc. Students for a period of one year (Jan-2023 to Dec-2023). The positions are purely Temporary/Lecture basis. Interested candidates can apply for the same on the prescribed format and as per details annexed. Job Details:

Lecturers (2) (On lecture basis) Master’s Degree in Human Development Ph.D. / NET / SLET For teaching, the contractual faculty shall be paid Rs. 500 per lecture subject to maximum of two lectures in a day (including conveyance allowance further subject to a maximum of Rs.20,000/- per month as per order No Adm / TW / C&R / 16 / 2067-2120 Dt. 17-8-2016

 

QUALIFICATIONS: –

For Lecturer:

Eligibility (A or B):

A.

  1. Good Academic record as defined by the concerned University with at least 55% marks (or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) at the Master’s Degree level in concerned / relevant / allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign University.
  2. A relaxation of 5% may be provided at the graduate and master’s level for the Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe/ Differently-abled (physically and visually differently-abled) categories for the purpose of eligibility and for assessing good academic record during direct recruitment to teaching positions. The eligibility of 55% marks (or and equivalent grade in appoint scale wherever grading system is followed) and the relaxation of 5% to the categories motioned above are permissible, based on only the qualifying marks without including any grace marks procedures
  3. A relaxation of 5% may be provided, from 55% to 50% of the marks to the Ph.D. Degree holders, who have obtained their Master’s Degree prior to 19 September, 1991.
  4. The National Eligibility Test (NET) or an accredited test (State Level Eligibility Test SLET/SET) shall remain the minimum eligibility for appointment of Assistant Professor and equivalent positions wherever provided in these Further, SLET/SET shall be valid as the minimum eligibility for direct recruitment to Universities / Colleges / Institutions in the respective state only:
  5. Provided that candidates who have been awarded a Ph.D. Degree in accordance with the University Grant Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil. / D. Degree) Regulation, 2009, or the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil. / Ph.D. Degree Regulation,2016, and their subsequent amendments from time to time, as the case may be, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of NET / SLET / SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or any equivalent position in any University, College or Institution.
  6. Provided further that the award of degree to candidates registered for the Phil. / Ph.D. programme prior to July 11 2009, shall be governed by the provisions of the then existing Ordinances I Bye-laws I Regulations of the Institutions awarding the degree. All such Ph.D. candidates shall be exempted from the requirement of NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment of Assistant Professor or equivalent positions in Universities / Colleges / Institutions subject to the fulfillment of the following conditions:
    • The Ph.D. degree of the candidate has been awarded in regular mode only;
    • The Ph.D. thesis has been awarded by at least two external examiners;
    • An open Ph.D. viva voce of the candidate has been conducted;
    • The candidate has published two research papers from his/her Ph.D. work out of which at least one is in a referred journal;
    • The candidate has presented at least two papers, based on his/her Ph.D. work in conferences / seminar sponsored / funded / supported by the UGC / ICSSR / CSIR or any similar agency

The fulfillment of these conditions is to be certified by the Registrar or the Dean (Academic Affairs) of the University concerned.

The clearing of NET / SLET / SET shall not be required for candidates in such disciplines for which NET / SLET / SET has not been conducted.

OR

B

  1. The Ph.D degree has been obtained from a foreign university/institution with a ranking among top 500 in the Work University Ranking (at any time) by any one of the following: (i) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) (ii) the Times Higher Education (THE) or (iii) the Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU) of the Shanghai Jiao Tong University (Shanghai).

Note: In Biotechnology, preference shall be given to the candidates with M.Sc in Biotechnology.
