Job Details:
- Name of the post: Project Associate I/JRF
- No. of posts: One
- Emoluments: Rs. 31000 + HRA per month with NET/GATE
- Essential qualification: M.Sc. in Plant breeding and Genetics/Biotechnology (specialization in plants/crops)
- Upper age limit: 35 years
- Desirable Qualification and experience:
- NET in concerned subject
- Field-based crop data collection and statistical analysis experience only
- Relevant experience of collection and statistical analysis of morphological data on field crops will be considered only. Other non-relevant experience will not be considered. The experience should be reflected through publications, thesis or experience letter.
Salary: For non-NET/GATE candidates, the monthly salary will be Rs. 25000 + HRA

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Preparation of germplasm for sowing of irrigated and non-irrigated experimental field.
- Field-based extensive screening of more than 1000 germplasm lines for various parameters of drought.
- Scoring of reflectance-based parameters of drought in the experimental field.
- Managing skilled and unskilled field labor
- Digitalization of field data for submission to NBPGR/DBT
- Assist in harvesting, storage and maintenance of importance germplasm
- Statistical data analysis for identification of drought tolerant lines
- Making genetic crosses using drought tolerant lines
Terms and Conditions:
- The engagement shall be purely on contract basis.
- No legal right to claim regularization/appointment by absorption or otherwise against any regular post in the University. Prior notice of one month is essential in case of relinquishing the post.
- The appointment is for one year only. The extension for one more year annually may be granted subject to satisfactory performance of the appointee.
- Eligible candidates will be informed about the date, time and venue of interview separately.
- No TA/DA shall be paid for attending the interview.
