This is with reference to the news article/ item titled JKSSB’s Contradictory Principles on Finance Accounts Assistants published in the Kashmir Reader on 12th January, 2021 wherein an attempt has been made to create impression that the qualification for the post of Accounts Assistant (Finance) has been prescribed by the J&K Services Selection Board. In this connection, it is clarified that the J&K Services Selection Board being prime recruiting agency of the Government of Jammu & Kashmir has the mandate of conducting recruitments to the Non- Gazetted positions, as referred to it by various indenting Government Departments. The Board holds examinations, interviews, including skill tests wherever required for carrying out recruitment to various posts referred to it by the indenting Departments.
The J&K Services Selection Board has no role in prescribing the basic/ essential qualification or setting at eligibility criteria for any post advertised by the Board. The eligibility & preserved qualification for all posts advertised by the Board is set in accordance with the Recruitment Rules and is the prerogative of the concerned Indenting Department
The syllabus for any examination is tailored out keeping in view the profile of the post prescribed qualification and other relevant parameters in consultation with the Indenting Departments/ Professional Institutes/ Experts.
