Grant of Scholarship to ST students under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Post -Matric Scholarship to ST students” for the year 2020-21.



Online applications are invited from Schedule Tribe (ST) students of Jammu & Kashmir UT including those students who are pursuing their studies within & Outside the UT of J&K in different Government/Private Government recognized Educational Institutions undergoing XI, XII Classes Courses, Diploma, Graduation/ Post Graduation level courses, B Ed, M Phil & Professional/Technical Degree Courses at Under Graduate and Post Graduate levels during the year 2020-21 who intend to avail Scholarship under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme “Post-Matric Scholarship to ST students”. All the ST students have to fill their online application forms as a FRESHER on “National Scholarship Portal” with effect from 10th of December, 2020 onwards.

Note: Income of the parents/guardians of the applicant from all sources shall not exceed Rs. 2.50 Lakhs Per Annum.

The procedure for online submission of application forms by the students on National Scholarship Portal website https://scholarships.gov.in from any of the available internet access point is as follows.

Instructions/Guidelines for Registration & submitting online application on National Scholarship Portal

  1. Students applying for scholarship for the year 2020-21 need to “Register” on Portal as fresh applicant by filling accurate & authenticated information on Registration Page in “Student Registration Form.” Before initiating registration process, students are advised to keep their Educational and other documents such as Aadhaar number, Enrolment number, Bank account number as per passbook linked with Aadhar etc, ready in hand for accurate uploading of details.
  2. Applicant has to upload the original scanned copies jpg image of the requisite documents and same should be valid and legible.
  1. Role of the student after submitted the online form:

Submit the hard copy of online application form along-with requisite documents as referred at serial No. 9 of this Notice to the Head of the Institution or Institutional Nodal Officer of Scholarship.

  1. Role of the Institution Nodal Officer:
  2. The Head of the Institution must appoint/nominate a permanent employee as an “Institutional Nodal Officer who will look after the Scholarship Scheme.”
  3. The Institution Nodal Officer shall verify the documents with regard to Income/Category Certificate, Actual Fee Receipt, Aadhar details & Account details etc. of the student.
    • The Institution Nodal Officer as per norms shall also verify the online application form with the documents uploaded by the students on NSP within stipulated period as notified in the notice.
  4. Role of the District Nodal Officer (Dy. Director Tribal Affairs Jammu/Kashmir):
    • The District Nodal Officer shall verify the documents with regard to eligibility of each candidates as per norms of the Scheme on National Scholarship Portal within stipulated period.
  5. To help students, brief description of registration form fields is provided below:
  6. Scholarship Category:
    • Scholarship schemes are divided in four major categories.
    • Students needs to select the relevant category based on their class in which they are studying i.e./“Post-Matric Scholarship to ST students”
    • Name & Date of Birth of the Students
    • Name & D.O.B to be filled as printed on educational certificates of class 10’” Standard Certificate,
    • Mobile Number & Email ID: Provide correct and authenticated/active mobile number& Email ID, as all the communications related to Portal activities will be shared to the students by NSP through the said channel.
    • Identification Details: Select and provide the information in this field very wisely. There are two parameters provided to students for identification such as:
      • Aadhaar Number: In case student selects Aadhaar number as the identifier, they need to provide their Name and 12-digit Aadhaar number as printed on Aadhaar card. Students having Aadhaar number are advised to register with Aadhaar number as preference will be given to Aadhaar seeded eligible students at the time of scholarship disbursement. This will enable in directly crediting scholarship amount to student Aadhaar linked bank account through Aadhaar Payment Bridge (ABP) in fast track mode,
      • Bank Account: In case student selects Bank account as identifier, provide Bank branch IFSC code, active bank account number and name of bank as printed on their bank passbook. Students also need to upload the copy of their bank passbook reflecting clearly the bank account number. In addition, when students use bank account as identification they need to provide “Aadhaar Enrolment ld” and upload the scan copy of the same.
  7. After registration each applicant/student shall get a login ID & Password, the applicants/ students are advised to mandatory change the password at the time of first login for security purposes.
  8. Students are advised to submit only “One online Application Form”. If students submit more than one online application form then all the applications submitted by students will be considered as “Duplicate” and will be “Rejected”.
  9. Documents/information required to be uploaded properly legible by the applicants/students.
    • Domicile Certificate/Residence Certificate.
    • Valid Category Certificate (Schedule Tribe) Issued by the competent authority.
    • Income Certificate. Parents/guardians current income certificate in original from the Tehsildar (in case of students whose parents/guardians are not Govt, employees). In case of ward of Govt, employee, salary certificate issued by the concerned Drawing & Disbursing Officers.
    • Fee receipt in original with name of the candidate, date, class/semester duly sealed & signed by competent authority.
    • Promotion Certificates/ Marks sheet of last qualified class.
    • Valid Hosteller Certificate, issued by the Institution.
    • Photo copy of the Pass-Book indicating complete particulars i.e., Name of the Account Holder, Address, Active Bank Account Number, Bank Branch & IFSC Code etc.
    • Aadhaar number along with photo copy of the Aadhaar Card which has been linked with 16-digit bank account number which shall lead to smooth transaction of sanctioned amount of Scholarship in favour of eligible students.
    • Mobile Number & e-mail Id is mandatory.
    • Documents/Certificates with cutting/tempering will lead to rejection of the application form.
    • Affidavit: Duly attested by notary to be uploaded. The specimen of the affidavit is as under:

I understand that in case I am found guilty of any wrong information for misleading the government, the government is liable to take any necessary action against me under rules, including recovery of the Scholarship amount/being black listed/debarred from any Scholarship in the future.

THE GRANT OF SCHOLARSHIP IS SUBJECTTOTHE FOLLOWING:

  • Mere filling of online scholarship application form will not confer any right on the student that he/ she will be granted scholarship.
  • Preference shall be given to the Government Institutions.
  • Scholarship will be subject to availability of funds.

A scholarship holder under this Scheme will not avail any other scholarship/stipend for pursuing the same course/class from any other Agency/Department.
